Kyllä, Minulla oli Hyvä Viikko. Amidst all the change the work in Tampere is still moving forward. Our best investigator is Henri, a young man just out of school. He has come to church twice and we've already given him the baptism commitment. He said he'd think about it some more after he learned more. This week we think he is ready to set a real date!!!!
Our other investigators we are about ready to drop two of the three because of their lack to keep commitments. The third one is Leila who wants to get baptized but won't come to church! She is always at the mökki. We pray for her daily.
We also worked with a less active this week and he came to church and is building up a desire to go back to the temple. We are so happy for him. When we were with him this week the spirit was very strong.
I know this work is true. Yes....I have my hard days, but I press on and in the end God always is on our side. Isn’t life so great! Everyday we have so many things that testify to us of God, and the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Just like it says in the book of Alma, everything testifies of Christ. There are many bad things that we can concentrate on in life….but why? When there are so many great and uplifting things! Right now I’m learning how much WE can control our own attitude and outlook for good. Even when there is so much bad around us.
One great thing that I am so thankful for is my new companion, Elder Falk! He is a hard working, funny, down to earth, smiley, elder from…….from…a few places. He was born in Russia, and his dad died when he was four of a heart attack, then his mom died when he was ten. She froze to death in the forest. He lived in an orphanage until he was adopted to Utah at age fourteen. There he was welcomed by a family of 13 kids and a mom; seven of which had also been adopted from Russia at an earlier time. Wow! He is a great elder. And pretty good at the language.
We have some great goals for this change. We are going to have to rely on the Lord for help. Those are my favorite kinds of goals. Because after you finish them, you know that the Lord helped you!
Thank you all for your prayers on behalf of Finland. Keep it up. Our key indicators are still going up. Finland is in a stage of serious progress. Are the prophets are saying it’s not enough, the Lord has more in store. ´Lets get this starty parted!´
Rakaudella,
