1 April 2010
Hei Family!
Today I visited the doctor to get a testimony that I am healthy enough to drive in Finland.
2 April 2010 Hei taas! (again)
Wow, miracles, miracles, miracles!
A family, the Nuutinens, in the ward set a date when they would have someone over to eat with us (the missionaries). Their friend Teppo came, he was polite but pretty quiet. We ate and shared a simple message. They asked him if he would like to meet with us on a regular basis and he said no.
A week later we are walking down the street and we meet a young pregnant woman, Satu. She listened to us and invited us to her house the next day. She is now one of our best investigators and Sister Nuutinen is her fellowshipper.
Later that week Veli (Brother) Nuutinen called us and said, “ hei, Teppo and I are going swimming in the ice water, then afterwards he’s made some soup. He invited you two as well…are you coming?” After visiting the lake we went to Teppo’s house and to our surprise he lives in the exact same building as Satu. After eating soup the conversation perfectly turned into the gospel. He invited us back the next day because he wanted to hear more. When we came he had already read to 2 Nephi! He is so sincere and takes the gospel more serious than anyone I’ve ever taught before. Sometimes he call us to arrange an appointment.
Two days ago we were going to teach at Teppo’s house with Veli Nuutinen and there wasn’t enough room in the elevator for Veli Nikiforov and me so we ran up the stairs. We didn’t think anything about it. We had a great each about baptism. On the way out of the building Veli Nuutinen said, “Oh, and veljet, that lady in the elevator lives on floor six and she wants to hear about the gospel.” And with a smile on his face said, ‘have a great day! Bye…”

We went to this lady and she too just had a baby. She also has a two year old daughter. She took a pamphlet about the church and families, and we arranged an appointment with her.

We have three investigators in the same stairwell of an apartment building!! And none were found tracting. One is a member referral, one we found on the street 45 minutes away; and one was found by Veli Nuutinen in the elevator.
We are converting our visiting city, Lohja, one stairwell at a time. We can never fully know the ways of the Lord. But when we have faith and open our mouths to tell people how great the gospel is, the Lord uses us as tools and His work goes forth. D&C 24:12 The Lord helps us when we do his work. Niinei!

I LOVE lots of things….but above all the Lord and YOU my rakas perheeni!
