No need to worry. We are safe here, and no changes have happened. We have a lot of meetings this week and decided to move our preparation day a little bit so we can have more time to meet with investigators. It definitely paid off!
Yesterday morning we went and picked up a priest age young man in our ward, Joel, and taught Timo about prophets. Then we listened to Pres. Monsons talk with him. He liked it, and Joel did such a great job teaching, sharing scriptures, and baring testimony. It felt so good to have him along. At the end Timo was embarrassed to pray but Joel so kindly helped him by explaining how to and holding an 'example prayer'. We ended up saying the closing prayer all together. I started, then Joel said something, then Vanhin Nikivorov, then Timo ended it. You should have seen Timo's smile afterwards. :) He was so happy that he prayed. There is nothing like the joy that is found in living the Gospel.
After that teach we took Joel home and met Vahur, the newest convert, to go to the next teach at Toppo's house. Teppo had just gotten back from playing hockey with the men in the ward. He is social getting more comfortable in the churhc. As far as the doctrine goes he is doing even better! He is reading the BOM, right now he's in the end of 2nd Nephi. It was fun to be with him and Vahur. Teppo's slowly gaining a testimony of the BOM. It's exciting. He asked Vahur what his fav. part of the BOM was. It was cool to see a brand new investigator talking with a recent convert. It strengthened both of them....and us. :)
After that teach Vahur stayed with us and we went to Satu's house. She was sick, so we couldn't teach a lot, but she had read everything we gave her last time. I can't imagine how hard it is to be sick and have a brand new baby. Please pray for her.
Surprisingly Vahur was not sick of us after two teaches and he invited us over for dinner. We all made food together and then held family night. Vahur has many gifts I'm excited to see him grow in the gospel. When we were teaching other people today he would always have the most sincere things to say.
I am so grateful that the Lord lets us live everyday. Each hour of life is an adventure, a learning experience, and an opportunity to come closer to God. I'm thankful that God is giving me the chance to be in Finland with the wonderful people hear. Like Grandpa Arave said, 'It's the right place, right time, and the Lord's will.' I know that is true. The Lord loves the people here in Finland, He loves me and He loves YOU! We are where we are for a reason.
Wasn't it great to listen to conf.? Prophets, WOW.....(that's about all I can say.) We saw all the sessions but sun. night. But don't you worry, we'll see it later. :)
Please continue to pray for us here. that we can speak the language and find the elect. They really are here, and God is guiding us to them. thank you for you prayers. Keep em' coming! Only by faith can miracles happen.
Have an above average week,
Vanhin Quinn
